Reflection

The Calories Intake Project involved me downloading an app and inputting each meal and every snack I ate for 7 days. It included breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. After logging my meals for 7 days I came up with a healthy menu for one day including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and also 3 nutritional goals.
After looking at all the things that I ate during those 7 days I realized that my calorie intake is over 1000 almost every day. The app I used recommended that I take 1200 calories each day and I obviously went over my limit most days. This made me realize I need to change my eating habits. I want to have a good and healthy diet and so far I am far from it. I have come to conclusion that I have to change my diet completely.
Another thing that I realized is that even though I love eating tortillas with most of my meals and drinking soda as well as juice I have to cut down on them. Tortillas are not bad but eating too many is. I usually eat 3-5 and that starts to add up on calories so I have decided I will not eat more than 2 from now on. I will also substitute soda for water, water is much more healthier and is good for my kidneys.
This project helped me to improve my time management, analytical and writing skills. I had to make time each day to input my meals in my app and had to analyze each meal and the effects they have on my health. I also worked on my writing skills when it came to writing the final paper. I will definitely continue to improve my eating habits, it will not be easy but it is something that is possible as long as I commit to it.
