The assignment I chose to do my reflection on is “Sociology of the Family”. For this
assignment we had to read a chapter from the book and answer a couple of questions. In order to
complete this assignment I had to read but most importantly make sure I understood the chapter I
read. This helped me develop my reading and critical thinking skills.
Another skill that this assignment help me develop is my writing skills. Besides the fact
that I had to do critical thinking to answer the questions correctly, I also had to find a way to
express myself correctly, which means I had to work on my writing skills to make sure everyone
understood what I was trying to express through my answers.
In doing this assignment, my academic skills have improved. I know that when it comes
to school, mainly college, we have to really work to get good grades and be able to finish our
classes in order to earn our degrees. In most courses we have to do a lot of critical thinking to do
and we also have reading and writing assignments as well, which is why I think this assignment
was good because it helped me work on those skills. Because of all the skills this artifact
required, I can connect it with many similar assignments I've had to do in previous classes and I
am sure I will have more assignments like this one in the future. I'm sure if I continue to work on
these skills I will be successful in all my classes and therefore I will be able to achieve all my
goals.
