At the beginning of this semester I had 3 major goals which were finish all the classes that I am taking with a B or better grade, learn how to manage my time better, and improve my writing skills. As far as my first goal, I got a B in my Psychology class and I’m still waiting to see the grade I get on this class, but I hope I am able to get an A. My second goal has been a little bit of a struggle, I didn’t follow the 168 hour schedule I did at the beginning of this semester, which was kind of bad because I didn’t use my time wisely like I should have. I do believe that my writing skills have improved a lot through these assignments. We had different assignments that involved a lot of writing, therefore I was able to practice and develop my writing skills.

     Sociology is the study of the development, structure and functioning of human society. I learned many things in this class that apply to other aspects of my life. I learned about the structure of families and how they have changed over the years. I also learned about the theoretical perspectives and the different views sociologists have. This class also taught me that we are a society of consumers. Many of the things I learned relate to all of us because we are a part of society.

     The academic skills that I think I improved as a result of this class are: critical thinking, written communication skills, and research skills. Several of the assignments we had to do involved a lot of writing and thinking and they also involved doing research. I believe that the more we do something, the more practice we get. If you keep doing something over and over you will eventually get better at it. In the future I do want to focus more on managing my time better. I feel that if I would have spend more time on the 2 projects we had to do, my grade could have been better on both of them.
