ASSIGNMENTS:
In addition to viewing the weekly lecture materials, please complete the following:
- Readings:
- Watch the "Films on Demand" videos listed. Be sure to login using your PCC network ID and password.
- Read A Writer's Reference R-Tab, section R2 pgs. 398-409 and the "Information for a working bibliography" section.
- Assignment 0 to be completed by: Most Importantly, please complete the required weekly attendance check-in by Monday 11:59pm PST. Assignment List This is a 3-part check-in this week. After you post for the Weekly Check-in, you'll contribute to an all-class collaboration page for "FAQs About MLA" by choosing someone's MLA Citation Question and answering it on the FAQ's About MLA page. Then you'll paste in your assignment and the Google Doc URL as a text-entry to the assignments page. Discussions Index and Collaborations and Assignment List
- Assignment 1 to be completed by: Visit your Research Group Discussion Board page and decide together on the text you'll be using for this week's assignment. (I have linked in this week's module two possible websites to evaluate--you'll need to evaluate both--in lieu of choosing a text from English 1A). You will want to select this text immediately so that if some wish to re-read and re-review it prior to the end of the week collaboration, they have time to do so.
- Assignment 2 to be completed by: Work with your Research Groups on Group Pages to evaluate a source using one or more of the 3 evaluation guiding charts in A Writer's Reference in addition to entering the MLA Citation for the text as part of your evaluation. You can get help for this by reviewing the "Information for a working bibliography" document in A Writer's Reference and by referencing the Directory to MLA Works Cited Models in the MLA-Tab of A Writer's Reference. Assignment List
You can complete all of these assignments by moving through this module, page by page.
