Unit 6 WK 11 Lesson pg. 2 of 3
Now that you know a little bit about what information literacy is all about, you can think about what information literacy has to do with conducting research.
When you conduct research, what to have to be able to know, do, and think as you move through the process?
Take a minute and think about that.
You probably came up with a whole lot of things you need to think about:
- What words to search with
- How to skim and read quickly for key words and phrases
- How to differentiate between "good" material that is useful, and "poor" material that isn't useful
and so forth.
The point is, information literacy--critically reading and critically thinking--have a lot to do with our ability to conduct research.
When you normally get started doing research after you've got a general or specific topic, what do you do?
