Thesis Statements

Thesis statements essentially function as a concise summary of your entire essay, and thus a well-written thesis can serve as a template for your entire argument.  A well-written thesis is

• Clear
• Concise
• Arguable
• Strategically positioned
• Relevant to the essay's entire argument
