From the selections from Readings for Revolutionary Writing, I learned about the power of details from Joan Dillard and Annie Dillard. I learned about what to do when you get stuck during the writing process from Anne Lamont and Peter Elbow. Reading about Malcolm X's process to literacy was inspiring. Paulo Freire's exploration in to the pedagogy of education was very compelling. But the most important thing I learned from Readings for Revolutionary Writing was the effect and of literary narratives. The problems behind traversing the "Contact Zone" and how writers such as Paula Gunn , Gloria Anzaldua, James Baldwin and especially Min-Zhan Lu handled their conflicts was thought provoking.
