Welcome to BUS009: Introduction to Business!

There is a powerful driving force inside every human being that, once unleashed, can make any vision, dream, or desire a reality.

Elon Musk famously stated, “If you’re trying to create a company, it’s like baking a cake. You have to have all the ingredients in the right proportion.” In this course, we’ll be learning about all of those necessary ingredients.

Throughout this course, we are going to cover the major areas in the field of business. This is a fully online course, meaning we will not meet in person. Each week you will have videos to watch and corresponding reading assignments. There are also quizzes, activities, written assignments, and discussion boards. In addition, you will be working on an online business simulation. Each week you will have important business decisions to make.

I am here to support you with your academic goals, and I will provide you with a variety of resources including videos, reviews and study guides to help you succeed. I aim to be very clear about deadlines, expectations, and course content. My goal is for you to finish this course with more clarity and confidence in your educational and career decisions. You can and will succeed!
