Where to Begin?
Not sure where to start? Let's start with the easiest things first. Here are some simple, yet effective ways to improve the accessibility of your course materials.
Start with Pope Tech Instructor Accessibility Guide
We highly recommend using Pope Tech Instructor Accessibility Guide first. Most Canvas-related issues can be resolved more easily with Pope Tech. Additionally, using Pope Tech before Ally to add image descriptions can help you avoid one potential issue in Ally. After you've cleaned up errors with Pope Tech, then use Ally to address document issues with your PDFs, Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
Delete Old, Unused Files
Click the "Files" link on the course navigation menu to browse through your course files. You may find that you have some old, unused files still lurking in your course. They'll still show up as issues on your Ally Dashboard, even if you aren't actively using them in your course. Simply deleting unused course files
Links to an external site. is an easy way to instantly improve your course accessibility.
Content with the Easiest Issues to Fix
On your Ally Dashboard, you can find all of the content with the easiest issues to fix. This is a great place to start because you can knock out many of these issues very quickly.
