Videos Without Captions
Any page containing videos without captions will be listed in the "HTML content contains videos without captions" issue, found under the "Remaining Issues" section of your Ally Dashboard Report. Ally checks both embedded YouTube videos as well as links to YouTube videos for captions. Auto-generated YouTube captions are not considered to be valid and are not included.
NOTES:
- If you have several videos on the page, you may need to manually check to identify which video needs captions. At this time there are no accessibility indicator icons to identify which exactly which video is lacking captions.
- At this time, Ally only checks YouTube videos. Videos hosted on platforms other than YouTube such as Vimeo, etc. will not be checked by Ally. Keep in mind that you will need to manually check to make sure that those videos also have captions.
See Captioning Resources to explore many options for video captioning.
