VoiceThread
A VoiceThread is a collaborative, multimedia slide show that holds images, documents, and videos and allows students and teachers to navigate slides and leave comments in several ways - using voice (with a microphone or telephone), text, audio file, or video (via a webcam).
VoiceThread is integrated with Canvas and allows you to incorporate VoiceThreads in your Canvas courses as way to present a narrated slideshow, hold a graded interactive multimedia discussion, or have your students develop their own multimedia content.
For more information about VoiceThread's features and how you can use it in your Canvas courses, we recommend viewing the VoiceThread Training Links to an external site. video.
Getting Started with VoiceThread |
Video: VoiceThread TrainingThis one-hour training session was presented by the VoiceThread team specifically for Pasadena City College and covers the basics of creating VoiceThread and integrating them with Canvas courses. |
Known IssuesVoiceThread is aware of one known issue affecting only courses which use an automatic late submission policy in Canvas. Canvas doesn't recognize a "submitted" status, so the first time Canvas will see a status update about the assignment is when it is graded. Since grading is normally done after the due date, these assignments will be marked as late in Canvas. Suggested Workaround: you can consider manually removing a student's “late” status (which will also remove the late penalty) in either the Gradebook or the SpeedGrader: |
