Turn ON Automatic Recording

Immediately underneath where you enabled cloud recording in the previous step, there is another setting to enable Automatic Recording. Please enable Automatic Recording. This is an important safeguard to ensure that your instructional meetings will be recorded so that all of your students will be able to benefit from your instruction, not just the ones who have access to technology at the time of your live session.

Enable Automatic Recording

Note: If you are having office hours or a confidential conversation with a student that you do not want to record, you can simply stop the recording for that session (see “Stopping or Pausing a Recording” below).

Stopping or Pausing a Recording During a Session

During a Zoom recording, a user can Stop or Pause the recording. If a user stops the recording and starts it again, a new video file will be created for the next recording segment. If a user pauses the recording and starts it again, Zoom will record to the same video file for the recording segment.

After a recording has been started, click Pause or Stop Recording from the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
