After watching the videos shared for this week’s lesson my views on fast food and even soda have changed. I mean, I already knew that fast food is not good for our health and it can affect out hearts as well but I never really paid too much attention to it. After I watched those videos, especially the one that talks about the chicken nuggets that are not really made out of chicken, I realized that everything that fast food restaurants offer may not be what it seems and it definitely grossed me out. It’s like we don’t even know what we’re really eating. Some ways in which I may limit the amount of fast food I eat would be to spend a little more time going to the grocery store so that I can make home cooked meals rather than eating out. Another way that I can avoid eating out when I’m out working or doing stuff is by packing myself lunch. I can also carry healthy snacks around so that I can control my hunger and wait until I get home to eat an actual meal. In my opinion, the CEO's of these companies should be more responsible and worry a lot more about their customers well being. They need to stop selling inauthentic products and start selling real beef, chicken, etc. At the end of the day, if they are claiming to sell “real beef” for their burgers for example, why not sell real beef? Why go out of your way to get cheap stuff just to keep more profit? Even if they spend a little more getting the real stuff, they will still be making millions of dollars each year, and the more authentic their products are the more people will be comfortable enough to buy their food.

One of my favorite fast food restaurants is Jack in the Box, when I searched it on Google here in Highland Park, 2 of them came out. When I searched the same restaurant in a city close to me which was Glendale there was 4 restaurants in that city. Comparing the 2, I feel that my local community does not have as many fast food restaurants as others, and it makes me feel that they are a little more concerned about our health and well being.

If I could come up with a healthy fast food meal I would go to Yoshinoya and choose white rice with classic beef and a side of steamed vegetables. Instead of soda I would choose to drink water.

Hello Sayer

I agree with you, I think the CEOs should change their menus, they have to worry about their customers health as well. I used to be a huge fan of McDonalds myself but for some reason the last few times I ate it, their food didnt taste the same. Their bread was always stale and it just didnt satisfy me anymore.

Hello Jazmine

I think CEOs have the responsibility to provide authentic, real food because a lot of people eat the junk food they are selling. Although I do agree with you and I also think we are all responsible of our own health therefore we all need to watch what we eat.
