The Montgomery Bus Boycott was an event that occurred during the Civil Rights movement in which there was a lot of racial segregation. A law was passed that stated there couldn’t be any black bus drivers, all the black people that was riding the bus had to sit all the way to the back of the bus and they had to offer their seats whenever white people would get on. Some black people got tired of getting treated this way so they started a campaign against the racial segregation. It all started when Rosa Parks refused to give her seat to a white person.
Liberation theology is a movement in Christian theology that mainly emphasizes liberation from social, political, or economic oppression. The Montgomery Bus Boycott was a movement that liberated people from social oppression, this is how these 2 topics relate.
I think liberation theology has had an impact on society because it has helped people break free from their oppression whether is social, economic or political. It reminds people that they don’t have to settle for what is given to them. They have the right to stand up for what they believe in. It also reminds people that we are all created equal and we all deserve to have the same opportunities as everyone else regardless of our backgrounds, race, etc.

Hi Remy.

I think you did a good job at summarizing this. I also think that Liberation theology has a huge impact on our society. We have to keep working together so that we can end discrimination completely. It's sad to think that it even exists still.

Hello Deana. I found your response very interesting. I admire the fact that you work for such a great organization. It's sad to even think that there's people that discriminate towards deaf people. I'm glad that there's a movement that protects them. Keep up the good work.
