I think the internet has become very important in today's society. Many people use it for different things, even to find and start a monogamous relationship. I believe that using the internet to find a serious relationship is hard because you don’t know if you are being catfished or not. I think it all depends. Online dating has its advantages and disadvantages as well. One of the advantages would be that if you are a shy person, online dating can make it a little easier for you to get to know people and maybe find the right one. Online dating can help people find people with a similar culture to theirs if they want to have a homogamy relationship. Although it has some advantages, online dating can also have many disadvantages, you might be telling the truth and putting real pictures of you up but you don’t know if the other person is doing the same. They can lie to you and those might not even be their pictures. They can also be living a double life. Another disadvantage could be the distance, you might live far from each other.
After reading “10 questions couples should ask before marrying” I think the most important questions are: do they want to have children, what do you expect regarding religious training for their children, who will do what when it comes to housework and what are their expectations regarding sex. The reason why I think these questions are important is because both husband and wife need to be on the same page when it comes to having children, adopting (if you cant have any or don’t want to) or not have any at all, and the way they raise them if they do decide to have children. I believe an egalitarian family is the best way to go. Also their expectations regarding sex is an important question because you are getting married to each other and one of the reasons is because you are attracted to one another. If you are not on the same page when it comes to sex then there can be issues that start from that as well.
Hi Joshua
I think you made a really good point. Technology is a big distraction in a room. You can see it happening a lot anywhere. You see families at the mall or even at restaurants and they hardly communicate with each other. They are more worried about their phone and social media or games. We need to start focusing more on what's going on around us and the people that we are with.
Hi Karina. Were on the same page I think dating sites are a little scary because you don't know who you really are talking to. I also can see why people do it though. Some people are shy or maybe they want to meet different people from different places.
