Learning Preferences Self-Assessment
Signaling by Kai Schreiber
How you learn -- your learning preferences -- is just as important for doing well in online classes as your technical and organization/time management skills. Understanding, for example, if you are an interactive learner (you like face-to-face interaction) or a self-directed learner (you are able to take some responsibility for learning on your own) can give you a better idea about how you might do in an online class. If you are curious to know more about how your learning preferences could influence your experiences in an online classroom, check out the chart below after you take the self-assessment.

Online classes may be a considerable challenge for you. Perhaps you are the sort of learner who needs to constantly interact in person with others, or maybe you have a tough time doing things on your own. Learning online requires a lot of different strategies: being able to communicate in writing, plan your learning and follow directions.
Before taking a fully online class you might explore a couple of the courses offered by the Counseling Department. These courses will help you improve your academic study skills which can make online learning a much better experience for you!
