Succeeding in online classes
Skills & Strategies For Success
You’ll need many of the same strategies for success in online/hybrid classes as in face-to-face classes. But, because you aren’t attending all your classes on-campus, you will need to learn how to be in charge of, take responsibility for and organize your own learning. You’ll also need some basic technical skills such as making and organizing files, sending messages, using chat, etc. You should also understand how you learn, that is, how you like to study about things.
If you want to know what skills you will need in an online/hybrid class and whether or not you have those skills, check out the 3 self-assessments in this module:
- Technical Skills Self-Assessment
- Organizational & Time-Management Skills Self-Assessment
- Learning Preferences Self-Assessment
These short quizzes can tell you more about the skills you already have and what you will need to be a successful distance education student.
