To help you navigate challenges and achieve success, consider the following practical strategies:

- - Talk to your instructor(s) by visiting office hours to ask clarifying questions
  - Get informed! Complete Back 2 Success and meet with your success coach and counselor regarding your academic standing
  - Be proactive about how you make progress in class:
    - - Pass/No Pass grade options
      - Identify drop deadlines in the event you wish to drop a class without it showing on your transcript. You will be responsible for the drop and add deadlines of your courses. Each CRN class has different deadlines that you can find in the online schedule of classes by clicking on your CRN.
  - Repeat Courses with a D or F to help raise GPA.
    - - Suggested to meet with a counselor to see if repeating courses is recommended or required
      - Note: PCC Repeat Policy allows you to repeat a course 3x only
  - Discuss with your counselor if you are eligible for any the following appeals/petitions:

Time Management

Reflecting back on the different cultural capitals we reviewed, think about what cultural capital you can take from to help manage your time and energy better. It is important to recognize that you have roles and responsibilities outside of being a college student that may contribute to your time management. This is why relying on a community of peers and mentors at PCC can be beneficial to your student success.

Let's take a closer look at Social Capital and how it can help you build strong connections. Social Capital refers to your ability to connect with people and community resources. To make the most of this resource during your academic journey, consider these actionable steps to strengthen your social ties and community engagement:

- Talk to your classmates about assignments and ways to support each other through the semester
  - - Form study groups
    - Note sharing if you ever need to miss a class
    - Attend tutoring sessions together
- Every student at PCC is assigned to a Success Coach that provide you with a variety of support such as:
  - - connecting with clubs, empowerment programs, online and on-campus events, student life, and student perks and discounts
    - interpreting emails from PCC and instructors
    - communicating with instructors and other PCC personnel
    - setting academic and personal goals
    - addressing personal concerns (food insecurity, homelessness, personal counseling, undocumented assistance, financial assistance, and microaggressions, etc.)
    - learning about and connecting with academic and student support resources on-campus support and off-campus (Career Center, Transfer Center, EOP&S, etc.)
    - and so much more! Make sure you reach out to your success coach throughout each semester
