Temporary Enrollments in Canvas

In certain situations, a user (e.g., substitute teachers, course evaluation observers) may be granted temporary access to your Canvas course. Temporary enrollments are pre-scheduled to begin and end at a specified date/time. Please be aware that a user who is scheduled for future enrollment will appear immediately in your course "People" list.

Larry Lancer shows up as enrolled in your "People" list, but he won't actually be able to see your course until his scheduled Temporary enrollment start date.

Note: This does not mean that the temporary enrollment user has access to see anything. It simply means that they are scheduled to receive access to your course at the agreed-upon future date/time. Future enrollment users cannot see anything in your course until the scheduled start date/time. Furthermore, your course card will not appear on their Canvas dashboard nor will it become active in their course list until the scheduled start date/time.
