Appointment Booking via Canvas Scheduler

The new Zoom LTI does not have an appointment booking feature.  If you rely on appointment booking, please use the Canvas Scheduler instead.  Canvas Scheduler is a Calendar tool that creates appointment groups within a course or group. Students can sign up for a time slot within the appointment group. Some appointment time slots may only allow one student to sign up at a time, while others may allow an entire group to sign up.

Note: Only students can sign up for appointment slots in the Scheduler.

Create an Appointment Block

To create an appointment block, you must first click on your global Canvas Calendar
Canvas Calendar is found on the left-side global navigation menu.

  1. On the Canvas Calendar, click the "+" button to create a new event.
    New Event Button "+"

Students will then see appointment timeslots available on the Canvas Calendar.

Canvas Calendar now displays appointment timeslots to choose from

  1. Students can click on an appointment timeslot to reveal the details of that appointment, including the Zoom meeting link (if provided by the instructor).
  2. The student may reserve this appointment slot by clicking "Reserve."

Students will see appointment details, including the Zoom link, and then click "reserve."
