Using ScreenPal in Canvas

Accessing ScreenPal

You will find the ScreenPal tool in the "Apps" list in the Canvas rich content editor.

Launching ScreenPal

When you click the "Apps" icon, you will find ScreenPal in the drop-down list.

Click ScreenPal to launch the tool.

Using ScreenPal Features

A window displays your current ScreenPal videos which you can embed. You can also choose to launch a new recording or to launch the video editor from here.

ScreenPal Options

Record: Create a new screen recording, webcam video, or both
Edit: Modify existing recordings with the ScreenPal editor
Videos: Browse and select from your previously created content
Embed: Insert selected videos directly into your Canvas content

Tips for Effective ScreenPal Recordings

Keep videos short (3-5 minutes) to maintain student engagement
Use a quality microphone for clear audio
Plan your recording with a simple script or outline
Consider lighting and background when recording with webcam
Use the editing tools to remove mistakes or unnecessary content
