How to Get a Screencast-O-Matic Account Through PCC Canvas

Pasadena City College has a Premiere Team plan so you are not limited to 15 minute videos.

  1. Log into Canvas with your LancerPoint ID and password. 
  2. Select one of your courses where you have a teacher role. This can be any course. This initial step will create your ScreenPal account and have it sync with Canvas.
  3. Find ScreenPal in the Course Navigation.
  4. Click on ScreenPal in Course Navigation.
  5. The ScreenPal registration screen will open. Enter your name and check the box to agree to the Terms of Service

7. Your ScreenPal window will open up.

8. Click on New Recording. You will get a prompt to download the Launcher.  On Chrome the launcher will download automatically and you should see it in the lower part of the screen. If you do not see it there check your default download folder and look for a file named WebLauncherRecorder.exe.

9. Click the WebLauncherRecorder.exe file*. After it installs the ScreenPal will open and you are ready to record.

*If you are using a District owned computer, you may need to contact the helpdesk to assist in the install. If you receive an error about not having permissions to install contact the PCC ITS helpdesk. They can be reached at helpdesk@pasadena.edu or (626)585-7523.
