Grade Policy Settings
Clicking the gear icon in the upper-right of the Gradebook will open a feature that allows you to adjust policy settings for Late and Missing assignments, as well as set an overall grade posting policy that determines whether you want to post your grades manually or automatically.
Missing & Late Policies
The Missing and Late grade policies allow you automatically deduct points for assignments that are turned in late or not at all. You can set the percentage you'd like to deduct at daily or hourly intervals. You can also set a "Lowest possible grade percent" if you don't want the deductions to take scores all thew way down to zero.
These settings apply to all assignments in your gradebook. It's not currently possible to apply different settings or deductions for individual assignments.
Grade Posting Policy
The Grade Posting Policy tab allows you to change grade posting policies for your course. The posting policy is set to Automatically Post Grades by default. If you select the Automatically Post Grades option, your grades will be posted and visible to students as soon as they are entered.
If you choose the Manually Post Grades option, grades will be hidden by default until you manually choose to post them and make them visible to students.
In addition to this global grade posting setting, you also have the option to set a grade posting policy on a case by case basis for each assignment.
