Editing Your Syllabus
Choose the Edit option from the menu and your syllabus will now display in syllabus in Edit mode In Edit View, the syllabus is divided into sections, each with its own set of edit options shown to the left of the content. You may see up to four different options for each section:
Edit Item - Click this button to edit the text of a syllabus item. For the items that have been pre-populated, this option will allow you to add additional text comments, but you won't be able to modify the headers or existing text.
For example, if you click the pencil button at the top of your syllabus, you can add additional text comments beneath the course title and information, but you won't be able to edit that text because it is brought in automatically from Lancerpoint.
Add Syllabus Item - The green box buttons add new items to your syllabus. For example, if you click the Course Schedule button at the top of the syllabus, a new item with that name will be added to your syllabus.
Once you've added a syllabus item, it will appear in the with it's own set of Edit and Delete buttons, allowing you to manage the content. If you delete the item, it will re-appear as a green button once again.
Delete Item - Clicking the red X button will remove the item from the syllabus completely, including the header. When you remove a syllabus item it will be added to the top of the syllabus as a green box button which allows you to add it back at a later time.
Locked Item - The lock icon indicates that this section can’t be edited. Several pieces of information in the syllabus are brought in automatically from Lancerpoint, including: Course Description, Meeting Times*, and Student Learning Outcomes.
Instructional Text
Many syllabus items also contain instructional text, displayed in a yellow box. These are instructions provided by the college to aid with the creation of your syllabus. These instructions are not visible to students and are only visible to you while in Edit mode.
When editing your syllabus, you will see these text items shown in the Notes area of the syllabus item.
